5 Upgrade: showed little, inside
7 Robby D: speed, set pace, faltered
Footnotes

SAND DIGGER stalked the pace to the stretch, rallied to take the lead a sixteenth out and held sway under urging. BIDAGAINBEN raced along the rail while close up in midpack early, angled out on the turn, finished fastest and was gaining late. AVENGING HILL pressed the pace outside of ROBBY D, took the lead approaching the stretch, went clear in upper stretch but weakened through the final furlong. DOCTOR JOHN chased the pace from the rail to the stretch but failed to rally. AM A SILVER THREAD raced well back to the stretch, angled out entering the lane and found his best stride too late. GOLDEN PAUL swung wide while trailing entering the stretch, had a mild late rally without reaching contention. FIFTEEN TO LIFE was never a factor. UPGRADE showed little while racing inside. ROBBY D set the pace racing near the inside, was headed early on the turn, vied to the stretch before tiring badly.
