KANO-STE HELENE set all of the pace from just off the rail, was headed by the winner leaving the furlong pole but but gamely to her task. CAL FLAMING GALA was permitted to settle early, came four wide to the stretch but lacked a solid closing response. FIT TO WIN raced unhurried early, saved ground and finished in a mild rally. SKIP A PAYMENT was permitted to settle just off the pace early, advanced inside on the turn, was caught behind a tiring ONE TROY OUNCE nearing the furlong pole, steadied, then got clear too late but rallied willingly. Footnotes

PFENNING raced up three wide into the first turn to gain a forward position, continued to advance once on the backstretch, challenged SPLENDID JACLYN two wide on the second turn, forged to the front entering the stretch and drew off driving. MARTINIS ATMIDNITE trailed from the inside to the second turn, remained on the rail into the lane then closed too late. SPLENDID JACLYN set all of the pace from the inside to the stretch and slackened. GOLDEN SHEIKA saved ground to no avail. LAVA LIL was permitted to settle early, tried to rally three wide on the second turn but had no response. SABOYA showed little in a dull effort. ALWAYS IN FRONT had only brief speed. RAISE A NATURE prompted the pace for a half mile and stopped.
