|
BETTI JOE raced up after the break and tracked the pace from between horses, responded entering the lane while dropping to the rail, collared KANO-STE HELENE leaving the furlong pole but was all out to prevail. KANO-STE HELENE set all of the pace from just off the rail, was headed by the winner leaving the furlong pole but but gamely to her task. CAL FLAMING GALA was permitted to settle early, came four wide to the stretch but lacked a solid closing response. FIT TO WIN raced unhurried early, saved ground and finished in a mild rally. SPARKY SCALES stalked the pace outside a three horse spread to the stretch but failed to respond. DWA CROIX BLANCHE tracked the pace inside the winner, steadied sharply off that rival's heels entering the stretch and fell from contention. SAVEEKA had no speed. LANE CHANGER was always outrun. Following a steward's inquiry and an objection from the rider aboard DWA CROIX BLANCHE, BETTI JOE was disqualified from first and placed seventh for interference entering the stretch. |

EVENING NEWS broke alertly but was allowed to lag far back to the turn, collected his stride and rallied quickly, cut inside SAINT JULIEN to split foes at the quarter pole, angled out while continuing his bid uninterrupted at the head of the lane, drew clear a furlong out and held driving. SKIP A PAYMENT was permitted to settle just off the pace early, advanced inside on the turn, was caught behind a tiring ONE TROY OUNCE nearing the furlong pole, steadied, then got clear too late but rallied willingly. SAINT JULIEN was never too far back, was fanned three wide by the winner into the lane and went even late. ONE TROY OUNCE set the pace from just off the rail to the stretch and slackened. RICHILLINI dueled two wide to the stretch and gave out the stewards posted the inquiry and reviewed the incident concerning SKIP A PAYMENT in the stretch but took no action. |

VALOROSA was permitted to lag to the second turn, offered a quick rally circling rivals four wide to the stretch, forged to the front leaving the furlong pole and drew clear driving. SILVER TAP was off a step slow but was quickly into good position from the inside, stalked the pace to the second turn, offered her best bid two wide into the lane, finished steadily but could not match strides with the winner. BILLY BOB'S JOLIE sprinted to a long lead on the backstretch, maintained an advantage into the stretch but slackened leaving the furlong pole. BIKINISANDMARTINIS raced far back to the second turn, came two wide to the stretch and finished fastest but too late. RED FILM (GB) saved ground throughout but lacked the needed late response. CHICK FLICK CHERRY was well placed to the second turn, loomed a factor three wide into the lane but lost her punch. |

TONCO broke a step slow but advanced quickly to chase OBERMEISTER to the final turn, was sent up outside that rival to engage for the lead after six furlongs, dueled head to head deep into the stretch and prevailed only in the final strides. OBERMEISTER set all of the pace from the inside, resisted the winner gamely to the final stages then gave way grudgingly. MAYNEUNDERFIRE stalked the pace from the outset, loomed a bold factor three wide on the second turn but could not sustain his bid. THE WIZ BIZ raced unhurried from the outset, was two wide throughout but could not rally. MORNINGS MINION (GB) saved ground to no avail. ECHELON showed little. |
