CALIFO pressured the early pace from the inside, forged to the front on the second turn, drew clear nearing the furlong pole but was all out to last. HOPSO (IRE) was never too far back from the rail, shifted three wide on the second turn and finished in a steady rally. KNOWMEE lagged far back early, saved ground on the second turn while well back, angled out for the drive and finished full of run. REFERRAL was not asked for speed early, came through inside on the second turn to reach contention then lost some of his punch in the late stages. MIRACLE FLIGHT stalked the pace from the outset, offered a bid four wide into the lane and flattened out. WILLIE OR WONTIE lacked the needed rally. MAIL CARRIER settled early, saved ground throughout and finished in a mild late rally. POLITICAL STORM dueled the winner two wide to the second turn and faded. MIDDAY SON (NZ) lacked early speed or the needed closing response. DART PARADE (ARG) showed little in a dull effort. CRYSTALAIRE was forwardly placed for a half and came up empty. COMET RETURNS was through after six furlongs and was eased in the stretch but walked off.

WENDY DARLING broke in stride and dueled outside AFLAME early, edged away from the rail on the turn, took a clear lead in the upper stretch and extended the margin while being ridden out to the line. OTTER BE RUNNING stalked the leaders from the rail, finished steadily but was not a serious factor. HOLLYWOOD CHAOS broke slow and lagged early, came three wide on the turn and finished willingly.
