GLITTER ACT worked her way in early to track the pace five wide, moved steadily leaving the turn while continuing four or five wide, took over in the upper stretch and was under steady right-handed encouragement in the drive. FLYING PULPIT, outrun for a half while four wide, came six abreast to make a run nearing the final furlong, couldn't reach the winner but outgamed CHI TOWN SLEW for second. CHI TOWN SLEW, never far back, moved up between rivals five wide for the drive, loomed a solid threat but lacked the needed response. LIMELIGHTER, well placed from the outset, edged in behind rivals, raced three wide into the stretch, angled near the inside for the final furlong but flattened out late. CABO SUNRISE, able to gain a forward position four or five wide early, inched to the front nearing the stretch but weakened when straightened for the drive. JUNKINTHETRUNK gained a slight edge early while dueling three wide, lost the advantage on the turn to CABO SUNRISE and tired. ANOTHER BIRDIE, sluggish to start, was outrun to the stretch and passed tired rivals. VENTURA HOTEL vied for the lead from early on while near the inside, was checked entering the turn, continued in contention till near the stretch and tired. GO GET IT, sluggish to begin, never was close. SAINT GREER was finished leaving the turn. DESTINY'S DESIGN tired early. |

|
LUSH, bumped at the start by SALUTEE when that one leaned in, settled three wide within easy striking distance to the stretch, came out six wide for the drive and was hard ridden to prevail. TELL ME TRUE forced the pace from early on while three abreast, gained a slight edge a quarter-mile out, briefly was clear in deep stretch but couldn't contain the winner's surge. TOTAL ANTICIPATION, outsprinted early, reached contention concluding the turn while near the inside, came out three or four wide for the drive and offered a mild gain. SALUTEE leaned in bumping the winner at the break, moved up inside to gain a slim lead, dueled until the final furlong and weakened. COASTAL ALERT, well placed always while four or five wide, came a bit wider for the drive and flattened out the last eighth. MR. BARTLETT, with in striking distance three wide to the stretch, came out six wide for the drive but failed to offer a closing account. TEXAS RAINBOW stumbled in his second or third stride, raced eight or nine wide on the backstretch and never menaced. MYSTIC APPEAL contested the pace outside of SALUTEE for nearly a half and weakened. SIR GRUNT moved inside but was outrun. CHADBERT, outrun five wide to the stretch, came wider for the drive, bumped soundly with FARMA'S BEST at the three-sixteenths pole and forced that one out, then had no rally. FARMA'S BEST, seven or eight wide on the backstretch while outrun, continued off the inside, was bumped at the three-sixteenths pole and forced wider by CHADBERT and never menaced. |

| Footnotes
|
O'LEE'S STORY, close up inside from the outset, moved swiftly from the rail to reach the front just prior to the five-sixteenths pole, opened a clear advantage in the upper stretch, then held sway under brisk urging. SILKY SUMMER drifted out at the start, was straightened and angled inside, saved ground till the final quarter, came out between foes six wide for the final furlong and was gaining late. RELIGIOUS gained the lead early, raced in the three path, lost the edge to the winner just before going a half, continued forwardly to the lane and gradually weakened. SHERIFF'S POSSE settled three wide early, raced within striking distance, came out six or seven wide for the drive but couldn't muster a closing bid. COLEE BEAR, well placed near the inside to the stretch, came out slightly for the drive but was empty. QUICKANDCUTETOBOOT forced the pace three abreast from early on, battled on about even terms to the stretch and faltered. I DIED LAUGHING, in contention early while four or five wide, attempted to drift out on the turn despite corrective measures by the rider, continued seven wide into the stretch and faded. |

DAILY REPORT gained the lead early while maneuvering in to show the way three wide, went along under careful handling, settled into the stretch with a clear lead, then widened in the final furlong under energetic hand encouragement. SASSY SIX, within striking distance while racing in behind rivals three wide to the final quarter, came out between foes five wide for the drive and couldn't threaten DAILY REPORT as second best. SHANNON'S DELIGHT, bumped repeatedly soon after the start by REFLECTION BAY when that one came out, settled five wide, continued five or six wide into the stretch, loomed a threat for the last eighth but came up empty. RAISING SALEM, outrun from the start and seven or eight wide on the backstretch, edged in entering the turn to be four wide, came out again to race eight wide into the stretch and improved position while unable to menace. REFLECTION BAY came out at the start bumping repeatedly with SHANNON'S DELIGHT, stalked the pace four or five wide to the stretch and flattened out when straightened for the drive. TEJANO'S ECHO drifted in at the start, was checked, quickly recovered, gained a forward position near the inside, raced close up to the stretch and weakened. SLAUGHTER AND RUN saved ground from early on, reminded near the inside for the drive but never rallied. KAT CAN DANCE moved up between foes two or three wide early to force the pace and weakened approaching the stretch. YAMIKA , well placed between rivals three abreast, raced forwardly to the stretch and faded. |

GLADYOUGOTTOSEEME swerved in at the start jolting CARINA, edged up soon after to force the pace from between foes, moved to the fore three furlongs out, drew clear in the upper stretch, then was under brisk urging to hold sway. CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER, bumped after the start by CARINA when that one was forced in, was never far back, raced in behind horses to the stretch, came out between foes five wide for the drive and was gaining steadily at the end. HIGH DIVA worked her way in early to stalk the pace four wide, reached closest attendance to the winner when straightened for the drive, then wasn't quite good enough. BRILLIANT BETTINA, well placed inside to the stretch, eased out three wide for the drive but was empty the last eighth. LEE'S PROSPECTOR, nicely placed three wide between horses for a half, came a bit wider for the drive and flattened out the last eighth. BALLADO MELODY, outrun for a half while racing near the inside, came out four or five wide for the drive but failed to rally. G MANS GAL, bumped after the start by CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER when that one was forced in, gained the lead, showed the way, for three furlongs, surrendered the advantage to the winner and gradually weakened. VERY VERY, five or six wide, failed to reach serious contention. SILVER SLINKEE tired after a half. CARINA, jolted after the start by the winner and forced in, was checked, then never a factor. PARTY SHU settled in behind rivals early, raced five or six wide on the turn and never was prominent. FERRIDAY, outrun five wide to the stretch, came out 10 wide for the drive but never menaced. |

| Footnotes
|
CAPTAIN NICHOLAS moved to the fore near the inside early, opened a clear advantage while controlling the pace under careful handling, expanded his lead a bit in the upper stretch, began drifting out when roused sharply with the whip left-handed leaving the furlong grounds, then was fully extended to hold COLONIAL BAY safe. COLONIAL BAY, racing in front bar shoes, drifted in at the start bumping MELLOWES, forced that one in on CAP, was never far back, edged in to track the pace four wide, was put to a drive at the five-sixteenths pole, maneuvered inside CAPTAIN NICHOLAS when that one drifted out in the final furlong, was going well but missed. MELLOWES, bumped at the start and forced in on CAP, recovered quickly, went up to press CAPTAIN NICHOLAS, raced in closest attendance to that one while three or four wide into the final furlong and came up empty. CAP, bumped at the start by MELLOWES when that one was forced in, settled three or four wide within easy striking distance but flattened out the last eighth. STORM VERSE gained a forward position near the inside early, raced in a challenging position while saving ground to the stretch, came out three or four wide but failed to fire. SHANNON THE CANNON, unhurried for six furlongs while saving ground, circled foes seven wide into the lane, improved position but couldn't threaten. STYDAHAR raced between horses three or four wide to the end of the backstretch, made a mild move approaching the stretch but lacked a further account. GROOVY CHIEF, checked while between foes near the inside approaching the first turn, weakened leaving the backstretch. BUNDY RUM failed to menace. |
