BETTY SPAGHETTI went up at once to vie for the lead outside of GORGEOUS LAKE, raced three abreast, reached the front approaching the final sixteenth and edged clear late under strong handling. GORGEOUS LAKE attended the pace from early on while between foes, gained a slim lead, battled with the winner into the final furlong and weakened. GOLD FABULEUX drifted out at the start, quickly recovered, tracked the leaders four or five wide and was empty the last eighth. BROAD CREEK, close up along the inside from early on, raced in contention until approaching the final quarter and weakened. SKYSAIL settled three wide early, raced within striking distance to the stretch, came out five or six wide for the drive but was empty. CELESTIAL SEA, four wide much of the way, was outrun. |

LOREDO LAND went up early to press front-running POLITICAL PARTY, drifted out leaving the turn to race six or seven wide, battled heads apart outside FREEDOM COUNTS through the final furlong and outgamed that one to the wire while leaning in and exchanging brushes late. FREEDOM COUNTS, a bit awkward to begin, raced inside, saved ground to the stretch, came out between foes to be five wide, reached the front at the eighth pole, then wasn't quite good enough while coming out slightly and exchanging brushes with the winner late. POLTICAL PARTY gained the lead early, was clear concluding the backstretch, held a slight edge into the upper stretch and weakened. DOUBLE SHOTGUN, five wide, raced in contention to the stretch and flattened out. YOURS ONLI was outrun. LTN. LARRY, reluctant to load into the gate, hopped when breaking, drifted out, moved up four wide between horses and tired leaving the turn. |

STEELYEYED moved up early to press front-running FOTOCAT three wide, engaged that one in earnest in the upper stretch, gained a slim lead at the furlong grounds, then responded gamely to strong left-handed encouragement to hold SURE AS SHOOTIN safe. SURE AS SHOOTIN, well placed inside from the outset, saved ground to the stretch, eased out four wide for the drive, loomed boldly outside the winner and wasn't good enough. MOONROPER raced in behind the leaders early three or four wide, was outrun to the stretch, came out five wide for the drive and offered a mild gain. KID KAELIN, within striking distance while tracking the leaders four or five wide to the stretch, lacked a closing response. FOTOCAT gained the lead inside early, made the pace into the upper stretch and weakened. DEE RON, sluggish to start, raced four wide and never menaced. |

TEMIS (CHI), reserved near the inside soon after the start, saved ground until the final quarter, came out five wide for the drive, reached the front leaving the sixteenth pole and drove clear. PERSIMMON RIDGE, well placed from the outset while tracking the leaders three or four wide, gained a slight edge nearing the eighth pole but couldn't match strides with the winner late. KERNITRE (GB) hopped at the start, angled near the inside, eased out four wide on the backstretch, continued five wide into the stretch and offered a mild gain. DEVILLIOUS contested the pace early while inside of WILLOW WIND, eased back and to the outside of that one on the first turn, battled on even terms into the upper stretch but flattened out late. VIRGINIA BEE, steadied sharply between foes during the opening quarter when tossing his head about, finally settled near the inside, saved ground for six furlongs came out seven or eight wide for the drive and improved position. WHEN I GROW UP followed the leaders four or five wide into the stretch and weakened. WILLOW WIND gained a slim lead early while dueling with DEVILLIOUS, moved well clear on the backstretch, showed the way into the stretch and faltered. This race was hand timed. |

CHRISTMAS TABLE bobbled at the start and was squeezed back, was unhurried three wide for a half, came out five or six wide for the drive and won going away under strong handling. MISSINTENSE, racing in a right-front bar shoe, eased out three or four wide to press the pace, took over a quarter-mile out, showed the way into the final furlong and wasn't a match for the winner late. TRULY SPOKEN drifted in at the start exchanging bumps with MISS A NOTE, was never far back while following the leaders four or five wide and was empty the last eighth. ELUSIVE BOOK, unhurried inside early, lost a bit of position on the turn, came out three or four wide for the drive and improved position while unable to menace. VENTURA HOTEL broke sharply to gain the lead, angled nicely to the inside, made the pace for almost a half and weakened in the drive. MISS A NOTE drifted out exchanging bumps with TRULY SPOKEN at the start, raced three wide in a striking position to the stretch, came out five wide for the drive and flattened out. NELLALUNA bobbled at the start, raced four or five wide and was done leaving the turn. WILD ON SALT drifted out at the start, was straightened, raced three wide and never menaced. XCITABLE FIELD drifted in at the start, was checked, raced four wide and was outrun. |

SHANNON'S DELIGHT, reserved early, followed the leaders four or five wide, unleashed a sweeping run five or six wide to reach the front at the quarter-mile ground, opened a clear lead when straightened for the drive and was under solid left-handed urging to increase her advantage. MANDISA, within striking distance and saving ground for six furlongs, swung out five wide in the upper stretch and bested the others while no threat to the winner. SPANISH LASS gained the lead early, maneuvered near the inside, made the pace for nearly six furlongs and weakened thereafter. CARR DE BON BON, well placed inside to the stretch, eased out four wide for the drive but was empty the last eighth. FOR BAILEY'S SAKE settled three or four wide, was outrun into the stretch and not a serious threat while improving position near the inside. DEMI COUNTRY, outsprinted early, raced four wide, moved five wide while edging closer nearing the stretch, came out six abreast for the drive and flattened out. SLAUGHTER AND RUN tracked the pace five wide, raced close up to the stretch and faltered. RED BRICK AVENUE, forwardly placed between foes four wide to the end of the backstretch, weakened entering the turn. |

LUCKY SCRIBE, unhurried early, raced four or five wide for six furlongs, moved between foes five wide approaching the final furlong and was ridden hard to prevail. SILVER GEM, never far back, raced three wide until the final quarter, came out a bit farther on the track for the drive, loomed prominently between foes but wasn't good enough. TCHEFUNCTE gained the lead early, edged inside, made the pace into the final furlong and grudgingly weakened. LITTLE FLOSS drifted in at the start bumping ON THE SEVERN, went up soon after to press front-running TCHEFUNCTE, held on well until the stretch and tired. CANDY RUNNER settled near the inside early, was outrun to the stretch, came well out in the strip for the stretch run, reached contention a furlong out and failed to continue. PHARONIC, in contention five wide to the stretch, came out eight wide when straightened for the drive but couldn't produce a closing account. CRACKERBOX PALACE stalked the pace four wide to the stretch and flattened out. ON THE SEVERN, bumped after breaking slowly, raced in contention in behind horses for six furlongs and faded. |
