SHADES CREEK was unhurried early, picked up some momentum approaching the quarter pole, swung out five wide for the drive, loomed boldly in mid stretch then flattened out. STAR CAPTAIN chased the pace two wide and faded. CLEAN LIVING sprinted clear, set a brisk pace along the inside, was overtaken in upper stretch, steadied briefly leaving the three sixteenths marker then tired. RAYS A RULER bobbled at the break, was rushed up between rivals near the five furlong marker, chased the pace on the turn and came up empty. VITICUS failed to menace.
