ROYAL PETESKI was taken to rate off the rail, advanced three wide on the turn, took command in upper stretch, drifted in a bit leaving the three sixteenths marker, was briefly overtaken past the furlong pole, battled back gamely under stiff pressure and prevailed. INCA TUPAC (ARG) was allowed to settle early on, advanced four wide into the lane, rallied to take a short lead leaving the eighth pole, dueled then was outfinished. SHADES CREEK was unhurried early, picked up some momentum approaching the quarter pole, swung out five wide for the drive, loomed boldly in mid stretch then flattened out. STAR CAPTAIN chased the pace two wide and faded. CLEAN LIVING sprinted clear, set a brisk pace along the inside, was overtaken in upper stretch, steadied briefly leaving the three sixteenths marker then tired. RAYS A RULER bobbled at the break, was rushed up between rivals near the five furlong marker, chased the pace on the turn and came up empty. VITICUS failed to menace. |
