GRACEFUL DEVIL stalked the pace, drew even with the leader with three furlongs to run, pulled clear while being kept to the task at hand. GOLD SUMMIT was allowed to settle, moved up to a strong position at the three eighths pole, proved to be no match for the winner. CAPTAIN CRAIG rated well off the pace, passed tired foes. RECORD LEVEL was slow early, made a steady advance through the far turn then flattened out. RECESS IN HEAVEN backed up readily. LIMITED NUMBER very hesitant to load, bobbled at the start, set the pace on a clear lead, stopped after being headed at the three eighths pole. AMERICAN PASS stopped early, was eased in the stretch when hopelessly beaten.
