GOOD O VALENTINE set the pace along the inside to the sixteenth pole, then couldn't stay with the winner while clearly second best. PRAG chased the leaders three wide into the stretch and tired. OPENFORJOY showed early foot, saved ground around the turn and faltered. JOSIE'S PEAK was outrun. SUAVE LASS failed to menace. SUGAR MAMA was outrun. TWO CENTSWORTH chased the pace racing off the rail, rallied to catch QUANAPOWITT nearing the eighth pole, then dueled with that rival to the wire and prevailed. QUANNAPOWITT showed speed along the inside, responded when challenged by TWO CENTSWORTH in midstretch and continued on gamely while just being edged to the wire. CLINTS WAY well placed along the inside, couldn't keep pace with the top ones in the drive while gaining the show. FORMOSA STRAIT failed to menace. DOUBLE E DOUBLE L chased the pace between horses and tired. CONQUER THE DEVIL was outrun. MR. OCTOBER raced four wide and failed to be a factor. HAM'S OUR MAN chased the leaders three wide around the turn and faltered. FOXS GOLD DIGGER showed little while racing four wide.

FORTUNE WRITERS rated off the pace, eased outside the leaders in the stretch, rallied to get his nose in front nearing the finish but was just edged to the wire. SAILAWAY set the pace along the rail, drew clear in midstretch, then gave way in the final strides. SHIRE checked in behind TO GOD'S EARS leaving the chute, saved ground into the stretch, angled out for racing room and didn't do enough late. BEST MINISTER chased the pacesetter for more than a mile and weakened. SHOP HILL bumped with SOY FAMOSO in the early going, raced four wide on the far turn and had no late response. FELO outrun after breaking slowly, raced three wide on the turn and closed with a belated rally to be up for the place. ONE MORE WHIRL quickly moved to the fore, made the pace along the inside to midstretch and weakened. RAGEOUSLY reserved early, saved ground and passed tired rivals. KEIAI MAHHA raced four wide on the turn and lacked a rally. POKEY AARON chased the pace along the inside into the stretch and gave way. STORMIN CHEROKEE chased the pace off the rail to the top of the stretch and tired. FATHER MARTIN raced in striking position to midway of the turn and faltered. TOUCHDOWN RUN was outrun while racing four wide. KID SEMORAN was through early.
