VERMONT'S CROWN lacked speed along the inside, angled out in the stretch and rallied for the place while not a threat. IRISH METTLE lacked speed just outside, rallied to contention in the stretch then lacked a winning bid. SCHOOLS OUT raced four wide near the middle of the field, and made a bid in the stretch but flattened out. PORT LOCKROY was always outrun. RED ROMPIN RASCAL raced close up three wide and dropped back steadily. WHY NOT raced close up just outside and gave way.
