COLOGNY quickly showed in front, soon opened a clear lead, set the pace along the inside, turned back a bid from TRAVELATOR entering the stretch, dug in gamely when roused and drew clear under a drive. TRAVELATOR raced close up outside, took a run at the winner nearing the stretch, could not get by that rival and continued on to hold the place. BEAUTIFUL AMERICA was outrun early, rallied inside approaching the stretch, angled out in the drive and finished well. CHIRIMOYA had no response when roused. CHEROKEE LITE raced three wide and tired in the stretch. LITERARY LIGHT tired after showing brief speed.
