KIRBY MAC raced close up early while in hand, rallied three wide into the stretch, earned a short lead in upper stretch then dug in determinedly and got the nod after a stiff drive. ILLUSIONARY MAGIC contested the pace from the outside, dug in resolutely when headed in the stretch and came again late, just missing.
