Race Summary

THINK BIG was quickest and set the pace to the turn, responded and edged clear to mid stretch then was under vigorous handling to the line. THOUGHTFUL KING stalked the winner three wide to the stretch, responded when roused but could not make an impact while inching clear for second. WALTZAROUND MOSCOW tracked the pace down the backstretch while keeping track of FAST N FOREMOST who was inside of him and racing erratically, was inside nearing the turn, checked back while trying to get out into the turn, remained inside to the stretch but finished evenly late. ROARAR stalked the pace three wide to the stretch but lacked a closing response. EUGENIUS EUGENE had no speed and saved ground to no avail. FAST N FOREMOST was hustled early but became erratic and was steadied leaving the five eighths, continued to be rank and dropped back to last and was not a factor. A steward's inquiry into the backstretch run determined that FAST N FOREMOST caused his own problems and no action was taken.

CAPTAIN BADGETT was outrun to the turn, rallied two wide to the stretch then continued on determinedly in the final furlong to catch CONSCIOUS THOUGHT late and win going away. JUDGES DECISION chased the pace to the turn, saved ground to the stretch, shifted off the rail, rallied when roused, had to check briefly and angle in late but tagged CONSCIOUS THOUGHT on the line for second. CONSCIOUS THOUGHT dueled for the lead to the turn, disposed of LOUISIANA STORM and edged clear to the stretch, responded to steady urging, drifted out late and weakened. UNACOP had no speed, raced two wide while following the winner to the stretch then closed the gap late without threatening. LOUISIANA STORM attended the pace to the turn but lugged out to the stretch and gave way. CHET MINTY was a brief factor, also lugged out on the turn then bled and was pulled up once in the stretch.

Race Summary

SEYAH ATTHE KAZBA was permitted to settle early but was always within striking distance, advanced inside on the turn, split the leaders just inside the furlong pole to gain command and won driving. OUTSTANDING BILL pressed the pace outside RAGINGBLUEWATER into the stretch and slackened. RAGINGBLUEWATER dueled from the inside to mid stretch and gave way. ELATED WON was never too far back, offered a menacing bid four wide on the turn but flattened out in the drive. DE CHIRRICO stalked the leaders from off the rail to the stretch and weakened. ROBERTA'S MATT bumped with FAITH OF THE WEST at the start and settled in the back of the pace, raced three wide on the turn and failed to rally. FAITH OF THE WEST was bumped between horses at the start, lacked good early speed, raced four wide to the stretch then had no response. I'M JACKIE'S BOY bumped with FAITH OF THE WEST at the start and saved ground to no avail. POTROAST AND GRAVY broke a bit slow but quickly reached contention in the opening quarter but had little to offer once on the turn. BOLD GRILL pressed the dueling leaders three wide to mid turn and stopped.

Race Summary

FANCY M. D. moved up inside after the break and outraced NORTHERN TIDE to the turn, disposed of that rival nearing the stretch to take a clear advantage, extended it to mid stretch then just did last. CONTRADICTION lacked good early speed, advanced inside on the turn and into the stretch to reach contention, shifted outside the winner in mid stretch then continued his bid and just failed to get up. JONES RESERVE settled early, raced three wide on the turn and finished in a mild rally without bothering the top two. NORTHERN TIDE prompted the winner from the outside to the turn and gradually faded. MADEITTOTHEMOON was permitted to settle early, raced three wide on the turn but failed to reach serious contention. I'M AWESOME AGAIN stalked the winner from the rail to mid turn and came up empty. CAP FERRAT (ARG) showed little. KING OF RULERS had only brief speed.

Race Summary

TANZER tracked WHITE CEDAR from the outset, moved to that rival two wide on the second turn, forged to the front nearing the furlong pole, edged clear and held driving. SHOOT YEAH was always forwardly placed, launched his bid three wide on the second turn, finished steadily but could not bother the winner. WHITE CEDAR set all of the pace from the inside to the top of the stretch and faded. BLIZZARD OF OZ raced unhurried early, was two wide throughout and lacked a solid rally. ALY RALLY saved ground to no avail. MARQUEE AFFAIR trailed to the stretch then finished in a belated rally. STEELEON SEASON showed little.
