PLACE a quarter-mile out, then gamely withstood the runner-up's surge. TRUE
ARIES came out at the start bumping the winner, settled inside, moved out four
wide on the far turn, came six wide for the drive, was going well at the end but
missed. BETTER PLACE tracked the pace four wide, offered an earnest challenge at
the quarter-mile ground but couldn't sustain the needed momentum. SERAPH was
unhurried early, was asked for more completing the backstretch, moved out five
wide entering the stretch and lacked a late response. DR. PRECISE stalked the
pace three or four wide to the stretch and weakened. SLAUGHTER AND RUN raced in
contention for six furlongs and tired. INHERENT GEM was done after a half.

long drive. ROSE OF PEMBROKE gained a slight edge inside early, battled with the
winner through most of the race and was outfinished in a good try. SISTINE'S
HOPE raced near the inside early, eased out four wide in the final furlong and
was slowly gaining. COASTAL WOLF, bumped at the start, rallied six wide leaving
the turn, loomed boldly at the furlong grounds but was empty late. COLONIAL CAT
tracked the pace early while five wide, bore out at the three-eighths pole, was
straightened quickly, continued within striking distance into the final furlong
and was empty. COOKIE BIGHT COVE, outrun to the stretch, improved position but
wasn't a threat. SPARKLER settled in behind rivals and failed to menace. SETHINA
forced the pace three abreast until nearing the lane and weakened. STRAVINSKY'S
FIRE leaned in at the break bumping COASTAL WOLF, then tired leaving the turn.
